ndisgtk in Universe!

ndisgtk has finally been included in the universe repository for breezy. If you're running breezy, it's now a simple matter of enabling the universe repository and doing a 'sudo apt-get install ndisgtk' to install ndisgtk!

ndisgtk updated

I've uploaded a new version of ndisgtk to http://www.users.on.net/~spohlenz/ubuntu/ndisgtk_0.3-1_all.deb.

Changes include:
* It should now work on all architectures (packaging issue)
* Help buttons removed for now (are they necessary?)
* Modules automatically set to load on bootup
* Menu icon in System->Administration->Windows Wireless Drivers

Thanks for all the comments so far.

Finally, something that works!

Well I've been busy working on my Ndiswrapper GUI and I am ready to release something. If you are using Ubuntu, you can grab the deb here. This tool won't be released for other platforms at this point, but it should still work. The tarball is available here.

Currently the only features not implemented are help, and automatically running 'ndiswrapper -m'. I'll get to that soon.

Bugreports/suggestions/etc would be much appreciated. :)

Everyone likes screenshots

I thought I'd post a screenshot of the first tool I am working on...

It is a tool to manage and install ndiswrapper drivers (Windows wireless drivers) under Ubuntu. It is mostly functional right now, and I am working on catching all possible errors right now.

Python docs Firefox plugin

Just found a neat plugin for Mozilla Firefox for all you Python developers (me included). It's a sidebar addon that allows easy access to the Python docs.

Google Summer of Code

I've been lucky enough to be selected for the Google Summer of Code. I'll be working on some GUI tools for Ubuntu Linux with the ultimate aim of reducing the necessity of using the command-line for common tasks. I'll post more about this soon.

I've set up this blog to host some random thoughts of mine.
